Get to Know Douglas M. Schmidt
Hans Christian Schmidt (1756–1822) is the patriarch of the family and Douglas's great, great, great grandfather. Coming from a family that has deep roots in the judicial system in Louisiana. His place in the legal community is indeed well-deserved as he has dealt with mass disaster and class action litigation cases. He is also a certified public accountant who has received millions of dollars for his clients in his 40 years of practice.
As an attorney with over 40 years of practice experience and running his own firm, Mr. Schmidt has a passion for the legal field. He is licensed to practice in Louisiana and in South Carolina; thus, he can practice both civil and common law. Louisiana has the most class actions and tort disasters of any other state.
